Mark Beever, D.V.M.
Dr. Beever studied Animal Science at the University of Maine at Orono and at Purdue University. He earned a Masters degree in Animal Nutrition, and then his DVM degree from Purdue University in 1984. He has practiced in Gorham and Cornish, Maine, and has owned Sacopee Veterinary Clinic since 1994. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Maine Veterinary Medical Association, and currently serves as a member of the State Board of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Beever and his wife Sharon have two grown children and enjoy the company of two cats at home. They are involved in the community through the Cornish Association of Businesses and the Saco River Festival Association. When not working at the Clinic, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and canoeing, and also works on the repair and restoration of antique clocks.
Andrea Scasserra, D.V.M.
Dr. Andrea Scasserra, a.k.a. Dr. Andy, received both her undergraduate degree in Microbiology and her DVM veterinary degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She graduated in 1989 and since then has been in small animal private practice in Florida, California, and for the past seven years in Maine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Maine Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Andy and her husband equivalent, Dennis, have an inside family of three Newfoundlands, and one FIV positive cat who was adopted from the clinic. The outdoor kids include four Nigerian Dwarf goats, two draft horses, a Belgian and a Brabant, and one warmblood, a Rheinland-Pfalz-Saar. In the past she has competed in conformation, obedience, and water rescue with her Newfoundlands. In the future Dennis and Andy plan to train their young Rheinlander for dressage. When she is not at work she can be found digging around the garden in warmer months, a passion that led her to receive her Master Gardener’s certification in York County in 2008. In the winter months she can be found cross country skiing, or hanging out at home with Dennis and the kids.
